The Health Plan Managed Workers’ Compensation Program Invites Employers to Enroll
ST.CLAIRSVILLE, OH (May 3, 2010) – The Health Plan Managed Workers’ Compensation Program, a Workers’ Compensation Managed Care Organization (MCO), announces its participation in the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation’s 2010 MCO open enrollment for the Health Partnership Program (HPP). Introduced in 1997, the HPP was designed by the Ohio BWC to improve the delivery of medical care for Ohio’s injured workers while reducing Workers’ Compensation costs for employers.
All employers in Ohio are required by the Ohio BWC to designate an MCO as part of their Workers’ Compensation coverage. Once every two years, employers if they are dissatisfied with their current service provider, have an opportunity to select a different MCO. The 2010 open enrollment period starts at 8:00a.m. on Monday, May 3th and ends at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 28th.

With administrative offices in St.Clairsville and Massillon, The Health Plan Managed Workers' Compensation Program serves approx. 13,000 employers throughout Ohio and is BWC certified in all 88 Ohio counties. In addition, The Health Plan Managed Workers' Compensation Program has achieved URAC accreditation in Case Management.
